Winter whiteout

Michelle Halford of The Design Chaser shows an all-white kitchen is more than all right.

THE INSPIRATION: Designed by Christopher Glanville and Megan Burns of Sydney-based CM Studio, this beautiful kitchen oozes Nordic style with its all-white cabinetry and natural elements. Perfect inspiration for the darker, cooler months, the light coloured surfaces make the space appear brighter, while wooden flooring, patterned tiles and statement lighting add warmth and texture. The black dining table provides contrast as well as a practical place to gather, dine and entertain.

EXPERT STYLE TIPS: Statement Splashback To prevent your kitchen from looking too sterile, break up all-white cabinetry with a graphic splashback and black accents. I’ve paired polished marble hexagon mosaic tiles with a sleek black kitchen mixer.
The Kitchen Table A table can create a central hub just as well as an island – especially in compact spaces, where it makes sense to combine kitchen and dining areas. I’ve chosen the Adaptable table by Danish brand Muuto; a modern take on the classic Scandinavian all-wood table. Available from Bauhaus, it pairs beautifully with the locally crafted The Sunday Bench.
Streamlined Appliances Create a cohesive look with all-white appliances from Fisher & Paykel. The ActiveSmart™ French Door Refrigerator combines value with style, while the Double DishDrawer™ Dishwasher fits seamlessly into cabinetry. Finished in white glass, the sleek lines of the Single 60cm Built-in Oven will complete the look. Designed to fit family-size dishes, this oven has an intuitive, electronically controlled system that allows for precise mode selection across seven cooking functions.
