Summer is all about hitting the road leading out of the city. But when skipping town isn’t on the cards, we’ve put together the perfect scenario for at-home escapism. So pick a movie, pop some popcorn and pull up a cushion… it’s time for Backyard Movie Night
YOU WILL NEED
Invites
Cute invites and popcorn labels will be the envy of all the neighbours. And if you don’t tell them they’re downloads, we won’t either. Get yours from here.
Set up
We put down pallets, added cushions and rugs and made a screen by attaching a sheet to the clothesline, but you could just as easily pull out a couch or build a fort. As long as you have a movie and popcorn, you can’t go wrong.
Drinks
We’re bringing the classics: soda floats. With a mixture of delish summer flavours, these will be met with squeals. Chuck in a scoop of icecream, chop up some strawberries and a lemonade top up and you’re away!
DIY Blanket
Take two metres of weaved fabric (this beauty is from The Fabric Store), then pull out each horizontal thread at the ends to get your fringe effect. Bam: perfect summer blanket.
