The leathergoods label’s story continues with the opening of another stylish store…
After more than a decade in the leather goods industry, luxury accessories label Deadly Ponies has opened its doors in Wellington. It’s the iconic local label’s fourth New Zealand store; two stores in Auckland, one in Christchurch and the latest in Wellington all convey a similar theme through the use of Brâncuși-inspired installations in a range of materials.
Deadly Ponies’ Liam Bowden worked with interior designer Katie Lockhart to create a space with a warm, welcoming glow – an escape from the capital’s elements. He says the process of designing a store has become one of his favourite parts of the job and that the opening in Wellington couldn’t come soon enough.
“We have an amazing customer base in Wellington and they’ve been asking us to open a store down here for a long time. I’m looking forward to rewarding their patience with our most amazing store yet in the heart of Wellington’s most creative quarter.”
On the shelves at Deadly Ponies Wellington is a handbag designed exclusively for the launch, Mr Fur Stitcher. See it for yourself at 28 Ghuznee Street.
