As long as Father Rabbit co-founder Claudia Zinzan has the essentials in place, she can handle the odd crease.
My partner Nick Hutchinson and I live with our children Tony and Michaela on a west-facing ridge in Titirangi, West Auckland. Our home is cosy and comfortable and has views of the bush. I’m a big believer that if you get the basics right – sunlight, warmth, nice bedding, good organisation – a home will feel great and be somewhere people can relax and be themselves.
Although most people would expect me to, I don’t have a décor theme running through the house. I like natural colours and fabrics, genuine design, artwork and collections that are meaningful to me. I also consider the memories the children will have, so there are plenty of books, photographs, interesting pieces, precious things and items that can be used robustly.
I like everything to be in its place, so I’m happiest when the house is super-tidy. This is quite a rare occurrence, but if I get the chance I love sorting out the cupboards and the kids’ rooms. Lately I haven’t had time to do much of anything, let alone iron the pillowcases – Father Rabbit can’t even look at me right now!
