It’s that season again — time to cosy up with a coffee (rug that is). That’s just one colour in a quadruplet of heart-warming shades that Susu produce in 100 per cent New Zealand wool. The brand was born of frustration: the search for a quality rug that felt sublime underfoot in a colour that was rich enough to handle our sharp light and felt immediately grounding. Founder Alexandra Harper wanted to create rugs that would stand up to busy family life, and look and feel lush, in shades that complemented a modern aesthetic. She came up with the name Susu as a derivation of ‘sutra’, which in Sanskrit means ‘thread’. Available in Coffee (the original), Forest, Hazelnut and Sand (a warm neutral), the rugs are reasonably priced and instantly draw an interior scheme together. Drink your fill.
