Unleash your inner stylist with this hair care multi-tool

Editor Alice Lines discovers how the Dyson Airwrap makes light work of salon-quality hair styling at home.

I’ve long been a fan of the innovation and technology that Dyson brings to the forefront of modern living. Their commitment to redefining everyday experiences through pioneering engineering and forward-thinking design is something that resonates with our values too.

Recently, the opportunity arose to review the Dyson Airwrap, and it could just be the perfect tool for making light work of getting ready for occasions that require feeling a little more put together than reaching for activewear and tying my hair into a mum-bun.

I used to look forward to a salon blow-dry, but in my current time-poor schedule, often booking something in caused more stress than relaxation — particularly when trying to work it in with an early start on a location shoot — where I would be styling and participating on both sides of the camera.

In this day and age, bathrooms have stepped up as self-care sanctuaries, and I’m all for equipping them with sophisticated styling tools — that’s where the Dyson Airwrap comes in. This versatile tool does it all — curl, wave, smooth — allowing you to style your hair from wet to dry. I have to admit, I thought it might be a little fiddly, but in use, the multiple brushes and barrels are intuitive and easy to use. I appreciated the fact that you don’t have to get the curling action perfect for the results to look good. Rather than feeling like it was a time-consuming chore, the flexibility to use the different tools means I can change up how involved my styling might be depending on the time I have. A quick brush dry for smoothing — utilising Coanda airflow, or rough-drying and curling with the barrel for natural bouncy waves.

Changing the direction of your curl is easily navigated by toggling the end of the curling barrel, and you can set your style with a blast of cold air with the flick of a button too.

As someone whose thick wavy hair naturally dries with a frizzy finish, I’m a convert to the convenience of professional-level hair styling from the comfort of home. If you want to make every day a good hair day, the Dyson Airwrap might be just what you need.
