Inject some bright and playful hues into your interiors with a fresh-minted collection that is fun in fabric form.

Joyful, jazzy and kaleidoscopically creative. These adjectives could equally describe textile designers Leigh Blair and Linda Abbott — and their first-ever fabric collection launched under their new label, Tutti Studio.
Having imported fabrics for their Martha’s brand for decades, the pair were frustrated by a lack of bold and playful textiles available at an affordable price. “We met so many fabric lovers who were wanting something a bit different,” says Linda. How could this dynamic duo resist?
Tutti translates from Italian as ‘all together’ and these clash-with-dash fabrics are certainly that. The first drop, with designs dreamt up right here in Aotearoa, features buttery soft linens and cosy wool bouclés suitable for curtains, blinds, cushions, headboards, throws, couch and chair upholstery — in fact anywhere your imagination leads. “We are passionate about using natural and sustainable fibres, so embracing the idiosyncrasies of the linen and wool fibre helps lead the design process as well,” explains Leigh.
An exuberant array of mixed-up colours feeds into an upbeat summer vibe: think ‘fizzy’ citron-and-hot-pink stripes; ‘scramble’ gingham; ‘tingle’ bouclé in lime and lemon.
If Linda is the ‘tutti’ of this collaboration, a paint, cut and paste designer, Leigh brings the ‘frutti’ with her ability in computer-generated pattern development. “We have such a creative synergy,” says Leigh, “and can interpret each other’s ideas.”
With this graphic, colour-forward collection of fabrics, they hope to challenge and stimulate the textile status quo, and give homeowners free license to express themselves. That should be easy; there’s a shot of summer woven into every thread.
