Beck Wadworth designs her ultimate daybed

Arbiter of taste Beck Wadworth has turned her creative eye from stationery to furniture in a collaboration with New Zealand design house David Shaw.

ABOVE Fabio boucle in ivory from Warwick Fabrics was used to bring a luxe textured finish to the daybed.
With a passion for interiors equal to her interest in fashion and design, founder and creative director of An Organised Life, Beck Wadworth, had been on the hunt for a daybed for the Auckland apartment she calls home for a while — a timeless piece that would work with her chic minimalist aesthetic. Connecting with Amy Shaw, marketing and brand manager at David Shaw, she took her daybed dream one step further and worked in collaboration with the Christchurch-based furniture-design house to create the Minimalist Emilee daybed, which pairs a creamy white boucle fabric with black metal legs in an elegant understated form complete with an attached bolster.
“Working with David Shaw was a dream come true,” says Beck. “I’ve wanted to add a daybed with clean elegant lines to my home for quite some time now, and I knew I wanted the design to be timeless and minimal. It’s functional yet comfortable, and can be moved around my home with ease.”
“With her love of texture, sleek lines and a clean, refined palette, Beck embodies the minimal modern muse,” says Amy. “I was drawn to her well-executed, minimalistic approach to interior and fashion; she kept the daybed pared back while creating a ‘wow’ moment in an unexpected way. Having crossed paths with Beck at multiple fashion and industry events, I felt this would be the perfect collaborative opportunity to create something special for the modern New Zealand interior. We’ve created the perfect piece.”
